Hi, I’m Kendalle Alquwaie
Sludge Cup Studios is my catch-all home for making things with my hands. I work across a wide mix of mediums—crochet plush creatures, whittled wood figures, linocut prints (sometimes hand-colored), watercolor and acrylic paintings, oil pastel, collage, and whatever else I’m curious about at the moment. I like learning new techniques, trying new supplies, and letting myself follow ideas wherever they go.
Because of that, my work doesn’t live in one neat lane. It’s playful, a little scrappy, sometimes tender, sometimes weird. I’m interested in texture, process, and the small joys of making something tangible in a very digital world. Many of my pieces start as experiments and turn into characters, objects, or images that feel personal and handmade.
Sludge Cup Studios exists so I don’t have to choose just one way of making art. It’s a space for exploration, craft, and embracing the beauty of trying things out—even when the results are a little imperfect.
My Approach
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited for what’s ahead. What sets us apart isn’t just our process—it’s the intention behind it. We take time to understand, explore, and create with purpose at every turn.
Simple ideas
Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and making space for thoughtful, lasting work.
Lasting impact
We build with clarity, act with integrity, and always stay curious.
